Being a KC resident for most of my life, the local burger joint is the best. What am i talking about? L.C.'s Hamburgers etc. smack dab in the suburb of Platte Woods, Missouri. Les Crownover bought the little place in 1973 and started the best legacy in the Northland. His burgers are pure beef, no fillers, nice crispy fries, and all of the local favorites, (inre: ETC) The service is fast and the help is well trained. Les retired in the 1990's but the place is the same.

I'm going to get slapped by my friends back home, I know it. Sorry In N' Out, you have always been good to me, but this is the simple truth... I have had many of the great burgers across the country, but LC's is the best I have ever had, by far. I go here to eat, every single chance I get. The double bacon cheeseburger is the most amazing sandwich on the planet, and I love the little fries (they only come large and ex-large). Once in a while, I go for the chili on top, good stuff! The wait can be a bit long, as they cook to order, but taking that first bite always reminds you that it's worth a few extra minutes to taste greatness! And the guys here are always friendly and glad to see ya!

No reason to eat a hamburger anywhere else in the Northland. I make sure to stop here every time I'm in town.

Good burgers, my fiance loved the thin patties with crispy edges. I had the bacon cheeseburger and thought is was pretty good. Tots are okay but sonic has them with cheese on them right next door.

LC's, for me, is THE hamburger place in the northland. Dieter beware, this is not the place for you. While it's a place I love visiting, those burgers are a bit greasy, and I'm sure my heart appreciates me not eating there as often as I'd like. As a treat it's great. The grilled onions are to die for as well. Double will probably do you. If you haven't eaten in a day, maybe the triple is up your line. Either way, stop on in on your diet "off" day and bask in the glory that is one of those delicious burgers.

Just a word to the wise, when going to a place named "Hamburgers Etc," don't order a hot dog. This LC's is a drive-thru burger place that also has a walk-up window and some benches to enjoy your meal on a nice day. A quick look at the menu shows that they feature a number of different combinations of a traditional burger along with some other sandwiches served on a bun. I went straight for the Big Deal, which will get you a quarter-pound cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard and onions, a regular order of fries and a drink for about $5. The burger and onions are cooked on a griddle and are delicious. Not too greasy. Toasted bun is always a plus. The fries aren't great, but they do the trick. I'm a big fan of encased meats, so as I mentioned above, I also got a standard hot dog to try out. The dog comes with mustard and is split on a hoagie bun. I was a bit horrified when I saw the female cook grab my floppy weiner and splice it down the middle. Things got worse when it appeared the thing was only cooked on one side. I ate it. I didn't get sick. That will be the last of that. I will go back to get a burger at LC's any day. The fries and hot dog quality cost them a star. If they were to perhaps come with crinkle-cut fries and/or a corndog, I would go five stars. If they came with a hot dog on a stick coated in crinkle-cut fries, I would bare LC's children.
